The silicon barium inoculant reduces the hardness of cast iron and improves the processing performance of castings. Cast iron is an important metal material in modern industry. Adding a certain amount of silicon and barium to cast iron can prevent the formation of iron carbides and promote the precipitation of graphite and balls. Therefore, in the production of nodular cast iron, silicon and barium alloy is an important inoculant (helping graphite precipitation) and nodulizer.
